Ocean Stories collaborates with Magerøya Vel, Arctic Lux, and students from Nordkapp Arts School on a unique art installation made from waste collected from local beaches. Created by artists Emma Gunnarson and Linda Hansen, the piece focuses on marine litter and our relationship to the sea through a colorful and thought-provoking visual experience.

Art that Gives the Sea a Voice

Ocean Stories is proud to work with Magerøya Vel and Arctic Lux on a powerful art installation that draws attention to marine pollution.

The work was created by Emma Gunnarson (Artistic Director, Arctic Lux) and Linda Hansen (Magerøya Vel), in collaboration with students from visual arts classes at Nordkapp Arts School. The installation is specifically designed for Ocean Stories and is made entirely from materials collected from local beaches.

Through a vibrant and contrasting color palette, the artwork reflects both the beauty of the sea and the hidden waste lurking beneath the surface. The audience is invited to reflect on our relationship with the ocean—and how plastic has infiltrated nature, daily life, and our lives.
