Marinated Herring for Grilling

Marinated herring is simple and flavorful, and it works excellently on the grill. In this recipe, we suggest a fresh salad with ingredients like apple and strawberries on the side. All our recipes are taken from godfisk.no

Method

  • Divide the herring into simple fillets.
  • Finely chop or grate ginger and garlic, squeeze juice from the lemon, and mix with the remaining marinade ingredients.
  • Place the fillets in the marinade and let them marinate for 30 minutes.
  • Grill the fillets on greased foil or directly on the grill, about 1 minute on each side.

Salad

  • Slice the apple thinly and halve the strawberries.
  • Julienne the salad and toss together with the apple and strawberries.
  • Mix lemon juice and sugar, and drizzle over the salad.

Serving

  • Serve marinated herring with salad and sour cream on the side.

Tip:You can also cook the marinated herring in a frying pan.
