Spicy Mackerel Herring Wrap

  • Cut each mackerel herring fillet in half lengthwise.
  • Remove chili seeds, and finely chop chili, shallots, and garlic. Shred the leaves of cilantro.
  • Mix together taco sauce, taco seasoning, and sour cream.
  • Incorporate the chili, shallots, garlic, and cilantro into the sauce and taste after seasoning.
  • Chop lettuce and place in the center of each tortilla wrap.
  • Add the taco mixture and mackerel herring, then roll them up.
  • Cut the rolls into appropriate bites and secure with toothpicks.
  • Place the wraps on a plate and serve as tapas or an appetizer.

Tip:The rolls can be prepared up to 2 hours before serving if you use whole-grain tortilla wraps. You can also adjust the flavor by choosing spicier or milder taco sauce and seasonings.
