Mackerel Patties with Remoulade

Crispy fish fingers made from mackerel, breaded with crispbread, are delightful summer food. Served with remoulade on the side, they become a hit with both kids and adults. All our recipes are sourced from godfisk.no

Method

  • Cut the mackerel into strips.
  • Mix wheat flour, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  • Whisk egg whites with a pinch of salt in a bowl.
  • Place crushed crispbread in a third wide bowl.
  • First coat the fish strips in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg whites, and finally coat in the crushed crispbread.
  • Cook the breaded fish strips in melted margarine in a hot frying pan until golden brown, about 4 minutes on each side.
  • Transfer the cooked fish fingers onto paper towels.

Remoulade

  • Finely chop anchovies, capers, and pickles, and mix well with mayonnaise and crème fraîche.
  • Season with lemon juice, sugar, salt, and pepper.

Serving

  • Serve the mackerel patties with remoulade and lemon wedges on the side.
