Baked Coley with Butter Sauce and Pointed Cabbage

Baking cod in the oven is easier than you think! Baked with butter and garlic and served with pointed cabbage and delicious root vegetables, this is a dish that will impress whether for a weekday dinner or special occasion. All our recipes are sourced fromgodfisk.no

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
  • Cut the cod into serving portions, sprinkle with salt, and let sit for 7 minutes.
  • Rinse off the salt and lightly pat the fish dry with paper towels.
  • Slice carrots and root vegetables lengthwise and place in an ovenproof dish with thyme. Feel free to use your preferred root vegetables, such as beets or potatoes. Drizzle with honey and olive oil.
  • Put the vegetables in the oven and check after 10 minutes if they are beginning to soften. When they near doneness, you can place the cod in the oven.
  • Place the cod in a greased ovenproof dish, sprinkle with pepper, and top with garlic slices and butter. Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes.
  • Cut the cabbage into wedges and sauté in butter.

Sauce

  • Melt butter until it turns nut brown, but do not burn. Season with a little soy sauce and pepper.
  • Serve the baked cod with pointed cabbage, root vegetables, and browned butter. Garnish with thyme. If desired, serve with boiled potatoes.
