Halibut marinated in ginger with butter-steamed root vegetables

Ginger pairs very well with fish, especially halibut. In this recipe, we marinate halibut in ginger, shallots, and soy sauce, and serve it with butter-steamed root vegetables. All our recipes are inspired by godfisk.no

Method

  • Cut the halibut into portion pieces.

Marinade

  • Finely chop the shallots and grate the ginger.
  • Mix all the marinade ingredients in a bowl, add the fish pieces, and let them marinate for about 30 minutes.
  • Remove the fish pieces and pat them dry with paper towels.
  • Bring the marinade to a boil in a deep frying pan, add the fish pieces, and let them simmer under a lid until cooked, about 7-8 minutes.

Vegetables

  • Thinly julienne the carrots and parsnips.
  • Add water, butter, and salt to a saucepan, and steam the vegetables under a lid until just tender, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Serve the halibut with the root vegetables and boiled potatoes. Feel free to sprinkle some finely chopped parsley on top.
