Asian Spiced Herring

To give the herring an Asian touch in this recipe, we use ginger-infused herring. With coconut milk, lemongrass, and coriander, it's like celebrating Christmas in Thailand. All our recipes are sourced from godfisk.no

Method

  • Remove the herring pieces from the brine and let them drain on paper towels.
  • Finely chop the chili and pickled ginger, and cut lemongrass into thin strips.
  • Mix together mayonnaise, sour cream, and coconut milk.
  • Add chili, pickled ginger, lemongrass, coriander, and rice vinegar.
  • Taste with lime.
  • Fold the ginger-infused herring into the mixture.
  • Place the mixture in a jar or container and secure with a lid.
  • The herring should marinate for a day in the refrigerator before serving.
  • The herring is keeps well in the refrigerator for about 1 week.
