  • Preparation time: 20-40 min
  • Difficulty: Medium

Ingredients

pesto

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  • Bring the macaroni to a boil.
  • Melt butter and add flour. Stir until smooth, then gradually add milk while stirring until the mixture becomes creamy. Mix in mustard, nutmeg, cheese, salt, and pepper and set the sauce aside.
  • Bring a pot of water to a boil with a little salt. Remove from the heat, add the fish, and let it poach for 10 minutes. Then remove the fish from the water and place it on paper towels.
  • Fry the bacon pieces in a frying pan. When the bacon is done, transfer it to a small bowl. Lightly sauté thinly sliced fennel, peas and kale in a little oil with garlic for about 1–2 minutes.
  • Mix the macaroni with the sauce and fold in the cod pieces, vegetable mix and bacon. Top with breadcrumbs/panko, and bake the gratin in the oven for about 20 minutes.

pesto

  • Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and purée them with an immersion (hand) blender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serving

  • Serve Mac & Fish with good bread and pesto.
