Shrimp Tacos

Method

  • Finely chop the garlic and mix it with sriracha chili sauce and soy sauce.
  • Peel the shrimp if you purchased them with shells on. To save time, you can also use frozen, pre-peeled shrimp or shrimp in brine. Toss the shrimp into the mixture and let them marinate a bit.
  • Cook the shrimp in rapeseed oil for 2 minutes while stirring just before serving. Be careful not to overcook, as the shrimp will become dry.

Cabbage

  • Slice the pointed cabbage into thin strips, finely chop the coriander, and squeeze the lime juice.
  • Mix sesame oil, kasie honey, coriander, lime juice, and salt, then toss with the cabbage.

Pickled red onion

  • Slice the red onion into strips.
  • Put water, vinegar, and sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Add the red onion and pickling liquid to a jar with a lid, or a bowl covered with plastic wrap, and let sit for at least 1.5 hours.

Dressing

  • Squeeze the lime juice.
  • Mix lime juice, sriracha chili sauce, and sour cream.

Serving

  • Warm corn tortillas in a dry skillet. Add cabbage, pickled red onion, shrimp, and dressing, then serve.

Tip:Pickled red onion can be prepared the evening before.
