  • Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
  • Cut the cod into serving pieces.
  • Wash, peel, and dice the carrots, celery, and leek.
  • Bring water to a boil, add the carrots, and cook for 4 minutes.
  • Add the celery and leek, and cook everything for 1 minute.
  • Drain the water and transfer the vegetables to a greased ovenproof dish with liquid margarine.
  • Place the fish fillets over the vegetables and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and thyme.

  • Heat liquid margarine in a saucepan.
  • Stir in flour and gradually add water and cooking cream, a little at a time. Bring to a boil between each addition.
  • Crush the bouillon cube and add it to the sauce.
  • Mix well and let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Taste with salt.
  • Pour the sauce over the fish and sprinkle cheese on top.
  • Bake in the oven for about 15 minutes.
  • Serve baked cod with rice on the side.
