Pizza with shrimp

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
  • Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water, add oil, salt, and most of the wheat flour.
  • Work into a firm, smooth dough, and let rise for about 20 minutes.
  • Roll out the pizza dough and place on baking paper on a baking sheet. Let the base rise for about 10 minutes.
  • Bake the pizza crust for about 10 minutes, remove it, and increase the oven temperature to 220 °C.

Pizza sauce

  • Finely chop the onion and fennel.
  • Sauté the onion until translucent in olive oil and stir in the tomato paste.
  • Add fennel and canned tomatoes, and let the sauce simmer over low heat for about 8-10 minutes.
  • Add freshly chopped basil when the sauce is ready.
  • Season with salt and pepper, and a bit of sugar if needed.

Pizza with shrimp

  • Spread the tomato sauce over the partially baked pizza base and add cheese on top.
  • Sprinkle with oregano and bake in the oven for about 10 minutes, until the cheese has melted and browned.
  • Take out the pizza, sprinkle with shrimp, and put it back in the oven for 1 minute to heat the shrimp.
  • Serve the freshly baked pizza with fresh basil.

Tip:Feel free to use frozen, pre-peeled crab in this recipe.
