Salted codfish balls with salsa

Ingredients

Method

  • Clean and finely chop scallions, red onion, and garlic.
  • Wash, peel, and dice tomatoes into small cubes.
  • Combine scallions, red onion, garlic, tomato, and olive oil in a bowl.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Salted codfish balls – bolhinos

  • Peel and boil potatoes in unsalted water.
  • Wash, peel, and finely chop onion and parsley.
  • Cut the salted cod into pieces.
  • Bring unsalted water to a boil, add the cod, and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Cool the fish and shred it into strips.
  • Mash the cooked potatoes in a bowl and mix with the fish until smooth.
  • Beat the eggs and add them to the fish mixture along with potato starch and pepper.
  • Add the onion and parsley, and mix well.
  • Shape into small round balls and roll them in breadcrumbs.
  • Fry the balls in oil until golden, then place on paper towels to drain.
  • Serve the salted codfish balls with tomato salsa.
